1 Kilo of USDA Certified Organic, Soap Nuts. Highest Quality Available At Any Price.
They actually aren't nuts at all. They are technically the fruit that grows on the Chinese Soap Berry Tree. The best species called Sapindus Mukorossi are grown in Nepal and India. These miraculous berries are gathered and then dried in the sun to preserve them. They are so useful because of their powerful cleaning abilities. The shell contains a very high concentration of saponin which is a natural surfactant. Saponin is also found in other plant species, but soap nuts have the highest saponin content by far. Saponin has major advantages over synthetic toxic chemical cleaners. They are hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin making them great for anyone who is sensitive to chemicals. They also have a net negative carbon footprint making them one of the best green products in the world. Common names for them include, soap berries, wash berries, and aritha.
Yes they are USDA Certified organic and they are also certified organic by Ecocert. Ecocert is the certification used in Europe.
They actually SAVE you money in comparison to the toxic chemical detergents you purchase in your local grocery store. They also eliminate the need for dryer sheets and fabric softeners since they soften clothes naturally. This saves even more money! They are less than half the cost of regular chemical detergents. Depending on how much laundry you do, you may save $20 to $120 a year! This means when you add them to your cart after reading this sentence, you are saving money!
They are very easy to use. Put 3 to 5 whole soap berries in the drawstring bag which is included with your purchase. Lightly tie the bag closed and chuck it in your washer along with your dirty clothes. Don't use any of your old toxic detergents, dryer sheets, or fabric softener as there is no need. They will clean and soften your clothes naturally. Our Kilo bag includes 3 drawstring wash bags. Even after shipping almost all of your berries will be whole when you receive them. We like to break them open or in half before we put them in the drawstring wash bag so water can circulate freely through the inside of the shell. This allows saponin to be released more easily from the shell which adds cleaning power.
Their ability to clean does not depend on what kind of washer you have; they do not discriminate. With a front loader HE (High Efficiency), washing machine most people get about 7 to 9 wash loads using the same nuts each wash. With a top loader most people find they get between 4 and 6 loads. If you want to maximize your usage, the best way to find out if they are still effective is to put your used soap berries in a jar with a lid and some water and shake it. If they still have saponin left, they will create suds and you can use them again. Don't waste the soapy water in the jar either. Instead pour it in the washer.
There are many factors that can effect all cleaning products like water hardness, temperature, altitude, and how dirty your clothes are. We recommend starting with our directions and then experimenting after that. You can try using more or less soap nuts. You can't really get it wrong unless you just aren't using enough. Your just want to find out how to get the most out of soap nuts meaning you use enough for them to work and not so much you are wasting them. It's not rocket science; in fact it's the same as any cleaning product you have used before. If you used bleach before you can still use it with these. If you must use a brightener, we recommend using hydrogen peroxide or oxi-clean since they are non-toxic.
Like all of our products, we only sell the best. We have the highest quality available anywhere in the entire world. They are USDA Certified Organic, deseeded Sapindus Mukorossi soap nuts. We import them from only the best growers in India and Nepal. They are harvested, dried, hand sorted, cleaned, packaged and labeled by the experienced experts in Nepal. Not only is the quality of their work unrivaled, but it also saves us money and we pass the savings on to our customers.
Green Virgin Products Soap Nuts are kept clean and safe in a resealable biodegradable bag before they are shipped to us. Some of our competitors don't do this. If they are not sealed before they are shipped to America, they may be exposed to the elements during the long ship ride to the USA leaving them at risk for contamination.
Shipping from Nepal can take a couple of months and the soap nuts can absorb the salty sea spray and any humidity in the air. It is possible for them to get contaminated with mold or bacteria which is the last thing you want in a healthy cleaning product! Ours are sealed in bags and are therefore safe from contamination during the sea voyage.
Wash berries are not a complex item like an appliance where a higher price usually buys higher quality. Our competitors have higher prices because they want to make more profit, not because their quality is better. There are soap berries equally as good as ours on the market, but higher quality is not available anywhere in the world at any price, period.
Chemical laundry detergents, fabric softeners and dryer sheets should be avoided. If you still have them you should dispose of them. These products contain chemicals labled under federal law as carcinogens, toxic and hazardous. Some are even on the EPA hazardous waste list. The list of health hazards associated with the chemicals in household products is alarming.
For the proof of this, just Google "laundry detergent health hazards". This is not a myth, it's a fact.
The European version of the EPA has banned over one-thousand chemicals. The EPA in the Unites States has banned a total of only 4 chemicals and has not banned any chemicals since 1976. The EPA tried to ban asbestos in 1976 but was unsuccessful in the courts, and that's why asbestos is still being manufactured and sold in large quantities in the USA even though it is a known carcinogen. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates over 107,000 people a year die from asbestos (from the World Health Organization). Can there be any further proof that the government is not protecting your health over the profits of giant corporations? If you want to be healthy, you have to protect yourself and buy products carefully.
Would you buy a cleaning product if it was banned by the government because it was too toxic? Of course you wouldn't. Almost all the leading name brand detergents in America are banned by all the governments in the European Union. That is a total of 28 different countries that have determined that American cleaning products like Tide are far too toxic to be even sold in their country and are banned. But Americans purchase and use these toxic products and are exposed to them every day. The large chemical manufacturers rake in billions of dollars every year while Americans are slowly but surely being poisoned, along with our rivers, air, lakes and coastal waters. Just before World War 2 about 8 thousand people a year died of cancer. Over 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2013.
For a happy healthy family, buy Green Virgin Products Soap Nuts and use our non-toxic cleaning products as well.

I really like how clean, fresh and soft my washable items are with no chemicals that is completely organic. I was making my own for over a year. Now, no more grating, measuring and buying three different things to make one product. Michelle Benge on Jul 23rd 2014
I was at first very skeptical of a small berry that claimed to be able to clean your clothes as well as leading detergents. I was really looking for something chemical free and natural to clean our families clothes though, and gave them a shot! I am so glad I did, because I have never looked back. I am absolutely amazed with the cleaning power of these soapnuts! I clean all our washables with these, everything from my husband's (he's a mechanic) work clothes, to our towels, and kids clothes. I also wash my cloth diapers with them and they work great! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them or this company. Buy with confidence- you'll be glad you did! Sarah on Jul 23rd 2014
I absolutely love my "Soap Nuts" I have been using them for the past three years. I also love the new "pre-spotter". My clothes smell so clean & my husband absolutely loves my way of washing our clothes!! NO MORE smelly fragrances!! Pat Pincus on Jul 14th 2014
I am amazed at the job these can do, and how basic and natural they are. I love them! Sara on Jul 9th 2014
I was a little unsure about how these would work, but I have been using them for over a week now and love them! My clothes are coming out clean and static free. I have already recommended them to several friends. I have a front loader and I have been able to use mine again and again. I can't imagine ever going back to another laundry soap. What a great way to be friendly to the earth and save money! Trudy Tilton on Jul 1st 2014
My daughter gave me some of her soap nuts to try a few weeks ago. After a few loads of laundry, I ordered my own. I LOVE them. They are so cost effective and eco-friendly. I was very skeptical about not even needing to use fabric softener, as I've been a Downey girl my whole life. But I love how clean and fresh smelling my clothes are without any perfumes or toxic ingredients. I'm sold! I placed my order and received it in the mail a couple of days later. Perfect! When I first tried soap nuts I was skeptical but was won over by the product and customer service. Mr. Ken Marion is a pleasure to speak with and very understanding of my forgetful mind in my chaotic home. He answered questions and was even empathetic of my busy home with youngins. The product is wonderful as well. It works so great on diapers, I am truly amazed at the quality. GY on Apr 10th 2014
This is my first time using soap nuts. I typically do not order products online but am very glad I did. Ordering is very easy, confirmation e-mails extremely prompt and the nuts delivered to my door in just a few days. I've been using this product for several weeks now and could not be happier with it. Clothes feel softer and certainly smell better. I am amazed that I no longer need to include fabric sheets in the dryer to ward of static electricity (which is a big problem in New England especially in the winter). This is a great eco-friendly choice and that is important to me. Elizabeth on Apr 8th 2014
I have used the GVP Soap Nuts for a few years now and wouldn't consider any other product or supplier. Best in quality. My husband is a mechanic and with the pre-spotter all of his work clothes are perfectly cleaned! Erin on Jan 8th 2014
I have been using soap nuts for years. I make a liquid laundry soap from the nuts and I get superior cleaning results. GVP is a reliable source: friendly expedient service providing a high quality product. SMH on Dec 16th 2013
Being allergic to perfumes, and wanting a more mindful way of washing my clothes, Soap Nuts is perfect. Soap Nuts can be used for washing your hair too!!! One box has lasted me a full year!! Try them - you'll like them. KRB on Dec 4th 2013
I try and use natural products as much as I can. These are the best things for laundry and other cleaning. I have two ferrets. They have a pretty strong musky smell. But I can wash their bedding in soap nuts and Oxyclean and it cuts all their musk smell. A very chemically sensitive lady I know was able to breath in one of the fresh washed towels and it did not bother her at all. The soap nuts get out smells, and they leave things smelling clean. NO smell, no perfume, just nice clean clothes. I love them!!! JT on Oct 7th 2013
Was surprised how well Soap Nuts worked! Bought the trial size & did all my laundry with it, with fantastic results. Did not use any dryer sheets either and clothes were fresh, soft & no static! Amazing product so went ahead and bought the big bag and won't buy regular detergent anymore! Product also shipped fast!! Debey on Aug 29th 2013
Love using my soap nuts... clean, healthy laundry! Also love this company- the BEST!! Dawn B. on Aug 15th 2013
Besides being clean, my clothes are so incredibly soft. I can tell when I haven't used soapnuts. I like that I'm not using harmful chemicals, big plastic container after container of detergent and all the waste involved in the production and shipping. Green Virgin customer service is very good. I've turned lots of friends and family onto soapnuts. We're all very happy with the product. GW on Aug 15th 2013
I have been using "Soap Nuts" for a few years.
They are the greatest way to do laundry!! Clothes smell so clean & I don't even have to use a dryer sheet.. Will never go back to store bought detergents!! Patricia Pincus on Jul 18th 2013
Love this product. Unique and cleans very well. My clothes seem cleaner and feel great. Diamond Healer on Jul 7th 2013
I have used soapnuts for about 13 yrs and have bought from several companies. I love soapnuts and will never go back to using detergents and this company sells the best around. Paula G. on Jun 2nd 2013
The soap nuts work very well at cleaning and softening my clothes. They do have an odor in the bag they come in, but it does not transfer to the clothing. The only concern I have is, some of my clothes have some static, so I am still using dryer sheets. But overall, LOVE them!! Jim D. on May 14th 2013
In the comments, I saw where a lady had hard well water, and had to use more soap nuts than usual....all she would have to do is to add a little Washing Soda to the water, and she would only need the required amount of nuts. Been there, done that, and it works! Also, a half cup of white vinegar in the rinse water takes all of the graying minerals out, and leave clothes white and colors bright!
Thank you for your diligence , and we do spread the word to family, friends and clients around the country about you.
Have a safe and prosperous week.
Sincerely, Nancy Nancy G on May 13th 2013
Love these so much better than making my own detergent, so much easier! Julia on May 13th 2013
This product was recommended by a friend, so I had to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they actually work. I will definitely repurchase, it might be sometime next year, but I will be a lifetime customer. Wendy C. on May 9th 2013
These tiny soap berries work as advertised. That in and of itself is a strong recommendation. The fact that they do not pollute, they do not destroy your septic system and they save you money. All of these just add plus value to a product that really does work. Charly on Apr 23rd 2013
So far so good. I have used them just a couple of times but am satisfied so far. I do, however, like the fact that there is no measuring. I will keep on using because my clothes seem to smell better and softer. Goodbye commercial soap and softners and the price is right. I do need to use them more in order to give a 5-star review. c.lewan on Apr 20th 2013
I have been using soap nuts for a few years and love them. There is no soap residue and they are kind to the environment. Joy Williams on Apr 18th 2013
